After graduating from my Masters in Fine Art at Newcastle University (1994), I founded and curated  Waygood Gallery and Studios, an artist led initiative in the centre of Newcastle upon Tyne. Waygood was a programme of critical contemporary art presented in the context of an artist’s venue (1995 - 2010).

I recently completed my doctoral research, Understanding How the Social Qualities of Art Influence Organizational Change: A Methodology for Art as a  Social Practice at Gray's School of Art, Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen (2011 -2015).  This was an AHRC Connected Communities Programme Collaborative Doctoral Award, and a partnership between Gray's School of Art and the research case study, Woodend Barn Arts Centre in Aberdeenshire, Scotland.
